We will be enjoying dinner and fellowship on the first Wednesday of each month. Join us for a meal this month of baked ziti, salad, garlic bread, and eclair cake.
The cost of dinner $8/adult, and $5 child, or $30/family. Be sure to register here so we can prepare for everyone!

Students in grades 6-12 meet weekly for teaching, fun, & fellowship! They will be talking each week about a story from the Old Testament and how it can grow our faith!
“Crazy Busy” Adult Book Study

Does your calendar ever feel a bit out of control? Are obligations piling up? Join us for a six-week study of Kevin DeYoung’s book, Crazy Busy: A (Mercifully) Short Book About a (Really) Big Problem, designed to tackle the danger of busyness and help create space for communion with God.

CONNECTING THREADS

Connecting Threads is a sewing group that meets Thursdays to provide items for hospitals, nursing homes, pregnancy centers, children’s centers, Must Ministries, and other local charities. Even if you don’t sew, you can help by cutting, ironing, or other related tasks.

WORSHIP IN PINK
Sunday, October 11 at 10:30 am
On Sunday, October 11th, we invite you to wear pink as we gather for worship and remember those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. We will pause together in prayer, and small cards and pens will be offered as a quiet way to carry that care home, or to pass it along to someone who needs to know they are not forgotten.

College Care Packages: Item Collection
Sundays, October 11, 18, and 25, before and after service
Do you have a college student in your life who could use a reminder that they are loved and prayed for? The Renewed Women’s Ministry is assembling care packages for college students connected to our Mars Hill family, and we need your help!
Drop off donated items with Elaine in the church lobby before or after service on October 11, 18, and 25. Every contribution helps us send a little piece of home to a student navigating life away from family.

Mission: Christmas Joy – Food Basket Handout
Sundays, October 11 and 18, before and after service
Help provide a Christmas dinner for a family in need! Empty food baskets will be handed out in the Narthex following services on October 11 and 18, and each basket will include a list of foods to fill it with. A Walmart gift card will also be added for each family to purchase meat. Once returned, the filled basket will go to a Christmas Joy family!
Donations of $25 Walmart gift cards are also needed.

Pumpkin Patch

Fall is here! Join us for our Pumpkin Patch, open October 13th through October 31st from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Pick out the perfect pumpkin, enjoy snacks, and let the kids join in on fun activities throughout the season.

TRIVIA NIGHT

Trivia Night will be so much fun! If you want to register as a NEW team of six contestants, please call Heather. Existing teams do not need to call. If you want to come solo, Heather will be happy to get you onto a team. Our Driving Miss Daisy ministry will be available to pick up those who want to attend, but are not driving. Children’s Club will also be available for parents who want to attend Trivia Night. Light snacks will be available. Trivia Night is the third Thursday of each month.

Young at Heart

October Meet-and-Greet, lunch-and-learn potluck. Bring a dish to share. Our speakers for this meeting are Jimi and Regina Richards, presidents of Mars Hill Memorial Cemetery. They are historians for the cemetery and surrounding community. Don’t miss their fascinating talk. They will answer any questions you have about our roots! Halloween attire is encouraged.

This is a relaxed time of fellowship while the children play. Typically, the 4th Friday of each month.

Christmas Joy Stocking Adoption
Sunday, November 1, from 9:45 – 11:45 am in the Narthex
Help spread Christmas joy this year! The stockings sewn and decorated in August will be available for adoption in the Narthex before and after the service on Sunday, November 1. Each stocking you adopt will go to a Christmas Joy family in need.
Once you adopt a stocking, simply fill it according to the instructions inside and return it by November 22nd.

Pizza, Packing, and Prayer
Renewed Women’s Ministry

Men’s Breakfast
Saturday, November 7, in the Fellowship Hall
Join us for a morning of good food and great fellowship! The men of Mars Hill typically gather on the first Saturday of every odd month (January, March, May, July, September, and November) in the Fellowship Hall for a meal prepared by the men themselves. Come as you are and enjoy some time with your brothers in Christ.

The choir will enjoy a time of fellowship with a light breakfast, and then get to work on the Christmas Cantata!
Table & Talk
Wednesday, November 18, from 6 -8 pm in the Fellowship Hall
Share a meal with your family and fellow young adult parents, then stay for honest conversations about faith, parenting, and life. While parents dig deeper through Bible study and discussion, kids enjoy games and activities led by our caring team.

Pick up your free devotional in the Sanctuary lobby on Sundays, or stop by the church office anytime and grab one from the plastic container on the porch. Some large-print devotionals may be available, but they will be on a different print schedule. Grow closer to Jesus through daily scripture, devotions, insight, and prayer.
