Men's Monthly Breakfast
The Men's Ministries sponsors a Men's Breakfast at Mars Hill every month. The breakfast is held in the Fellowship Hall at Mars Hill at 8 am on the second Saturday of the month.
Interestingly, the breakfast is not catered but is prepared by the men themselves. Over the years, several of the men have become very good at preparing this breakfast. Notably, long-time member Lamar Baldwin makes the best homemade biscuits in three counties. Other items on the regular menu include southern favorites such as scrambled eggs, grits, crisp bacon, gravy, cheese, cantalope, and coffee.
As part of the breakfast, there is a short business meeting of the Men's Ministry, along with a short financial report, announcements, and project reports. A collection is taken to pay for the food and to to support the various projects and ministries.
Finally, the program varies from month to month and includes speakers from both within and outside the church, informational presentations and spiritual meditations.
The Men's Monthly Breakfast provides a casual atmosphere for food, fellowship, inspiration and service. Every man and boy in the world is invited, although we usually average about 30-50 church members and guests from the local community. This is a great time for our newer members and church guests to get to know Mars Hill. So whether you are a church member, a member of the local community, a guest of someone in teh community, or just passing thru, come join us for breakfast.
