What time is worship?
We have two worship services each Sunday at 9:00 and 10:40 a.m.
Where is the church located?
Mars Hill is conveniently located at 3385 Mars Hill Rd in Acworth, GA 30101 near the intersection of Mars Hill Rd. & US 41. For a map please click on "Where is Mars Hill" on the left side.
What kind of worship experiences does Mars Hill offer?
We have two different types of worship celebrations. They are specifically designed to fill our hearts and minds with worship, praise, joy and a special sense of the presence of God. The 9:00 worship service is for those who prefer a more traditional worship experience. It features a range of traditional to contemporary music including hymns. Our 10:40 am service has a contemporary sound and feel; it's upbeat and filled with praise to our Lord. Our pastor brings an identical message at both worship celebrations. We invite you to dress casual at all services.
What's the "dress code"?
Come just as you are. Come in what you feel comfortable wearing. There is no dress code that you are expected to adhere to.
What can I expect when I first visit?
Chances are when you come to Mars Hill or any other new church, you'll find two questions running through your mind. What's this church like? And, will I like it? Here's the answer to some questions you may have about coming to Mars Hill so you'll feel comfortable from the moment you drive in to the moment you leave.
First, even though you'll see lots of cars, you'll find ample parking. If our parking lot is full, you can park in our overflow parking area in the gravel lot behind the sanctuary.
You'll be greeted at the door by a greeter or usher. No one will embarrass you at any time. You won't be asked to stand and identify yourself as a "visitor". You won't be asked to say anything.
Our worship is extremely easy to follow. Everyone is asked to stand and sit at the same time, so you'll never find yourself standing when everyone else is sitting, or sitting when everyone else is standing.
What about children?
If you have an infant to 5-years-old, you'll be pleased to know we have one of the cleanest, safest nurseries you'll find anywhere in Acworth. When a parent signs his or her child in to the nursery, he or she is given a silent pager so you can be contacted during worship in the event that you are needed.
We have an active children's program designed to help your children feel loved and confident because they are a special creation of God and they're loved by Him. Our children's program includes a Children's Church program. We also offer a Children's Choir, Vacation Bible School, and more. What's the difference between a Presbyterian church and a "non-denominational" church?
An important question. First of all, recognize that some churches that are thought to be non-denominational are, in fact, part of a larger denomination. That's not a bad thing. We believe that it is both valuable and biblical for people, congregations and leaders to be accountable to others. As a result, we are a connectional church. While we are formally a part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), our chief allegiance is to the Lord Jesus Christ. Our members have various religious backgrounds before coming to Mars Hill.
What are the basic beliefs held by Mars Hill?

Do women hold leadership roles at Mars Hill?
Yes. Our Brief Statement of Faith states what we believe God's Word teaches in Galatians 3.28 ("There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.") that the Holy Spirit "calls women and men to all ministries of the church." Women can be ordained as pastors, elders and deacons, and serve Christ faithfully as elders and deacons at Mars Hill.
